Getting Ready…

Just days to the opening of the Friday Harbor High School Drama Group’s production of Working and got a chance to check them out at their first rehearsal on the Whittier stage.  It was cool to see the young islanders take on the roles of adults in a very believable way.

Based on the book by Studs Terkel, the play takes us inside the world of work via the voices of both Friday Harbor High and Spring Street International students.  From a waitress to a firefighter to a steelworkers, there are several poignant monologues as well as some songs, including one written by James Taylor.

Here’s a couple of rehearsal shots.  The play runs January 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m.
